Introduction

Welcome to Fourths Hub! This is a site built by and for guitarists who play in all-fourths tuning (also called P4 tuning). Whether you are just getting started with fourths tuning or have been playing this way for years, I hope you will find something useful here.

Who Am I?

I am a software engineer and musician. I have been playing guitar in fourths tuning for several years and I got tired of mentally transposing standard-tuning resources to work with my setup. So I started building tools to help myself, and Fourths Hub is the result.

What Is This Site?

What started as a simple web app for visualizing scales and chords on a fourths-tuned fretboard has evolved into a comprehensive set of interactive tools. You will find scale visualizers, chord voicing generators, voice leading tools, practice utilities like a metronome and chord change trainers, and much more.

Why Build This?

There is a significant education gap when it comes to fourths tuning. The vast majority of guitar educational content assumes standard tuning. Chord books, scale diagrams, YouTube lessons - nearly everything is designed for the standard EADGBE setup. If you play in fourths tuning, you are largely on your own when it comes to translating that material.

Fourths Hub aims to fill that gap by providing interactive, fourths-tuning-native tools. Everything here is built with P4 tuning in mind from the ground up, not adapted from standard tuning resources.
